Brewer High School  athlete Marteese Williams won fourth place in the 300m hurdles at the UIL State Track Meet.

The students received a new Dell laptop, and educators received a $100 check.

 

The Brewer High School Lady Bears Team defeated South Hills 16-5 Friday, May 2 to win the Area Championship. The girls will advance to the Regional Semi-Finals to take on Lubbock Cooper at Holliday High School, 751 S. College Ave., Holliday, TX 76366

Game 1: Friday @ 6 p.m.
Game 2: Saturday @ 10 a.m.
Game 3 (if needed): Follows Game 2

Players are: Samantha Aguirre, Maddie Folsom, Haylie Jimenez, Charisma Johnson, Lilly Meller, Keira Miller, Sylver Orebaugh, Kamren Pride, Parker Pride, Cozy Tyson, Aleana Urias, Abry Urias, Avery Welch, Alyssa Wilson, Khloe Winn, Alexandra Castaneda and Kaylin Valo.

Head Coach is Josh Richards, and assistants are Caitlin Bradley, Lauren Gunter and Calvin Wright.

 

The Lady Bears softball team beat Argyle for the Bi-District Championship, and they advance to the Area Playoffs against South Hills in a best 2 out of 3 series. 

They will take on South Hills at Castleberry High School in a best 2 out of 3 series. Game 1 will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1; Game 2 7 p.m. Friday, May 2; and (if necessary) Game 3 Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Brewer baseball team will advance to the Bi-District Playoffs! The team heads into the playoffs with an 18-9 overall and 6-6 district record. They play Grapevine at Richland High School in a best two out of 3 series. The boys play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1 (Brewer home); Friday, 7:30 p.m. (Brewer visitor); and Saturday at 1 p.m., if necessary.  

Players are: Alex Chavez, Ricky Olmos, Jesse Orozco, Lucas Cantu, Brayden Squires, Silas Shugrue, Matthew McGinnis, Troy Griffin, Parker Mix, Colton Ryals, Parker Evans, Ethan Maddy, Logan Shires, Anthony Narez, David Ellington, David Hargrove, Colby Brewer, Evan Montalvo, Bryan Renteria, Colt Plemons, Khyler Farris, Tanner Pierce, Sergio Aguirre and Nick Johnson.

Head Coach is Art Senato, and assistants are Justin Ray, Kyle Kelly and Lance Miles.

 

Marteese Williams advanced to the State Track Meet after earning a qualifying time of 37.45 and third place in the 300m hurdles at Regionals. He will compete in Austin May 1 through 3. 

 

Several members of the Brewer High School Track and Field team medaled at the Area Meet and advanced to Regionals April 18 and 19.

The following athletes advance to Regionals: Aaliyah Williams, second place, 800 Meter Run, and third, 400 Meter Dash; Madison Carroll, third, 1600 Meter Run, and fourth, 3200 Meter Run; Nevaeh Boardingham, second, Shot Put; and Marteese Williams, second, 300 Meter Hurdles

Other team members who placed in the top 8 were: Nevaeh Boardingham, fifth, Discus; Girls 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Aaliyah Williams, Saryiah Page, Janiah Johnson and Dalayah Care, fifth; Boys 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Braylon Brown, Devon Roberts, Ty Salas and Marteese Williams, seventh; and Girls 4x200 Metal Relay Team of Delayah Carey, Isabella Sanchez, Rita Ismaili, Saryiah Page and Janiah Johnson, seventh.

Head Coaches are Daniel Foster and William Rash. Assistants are: Tyler Weeks, Tyler Jackson, Melissa Stripling, Meghan Brooks, Sonny Feexico and Sean Kenny.
